Monday, (4/1) the CPNS onboarding participants reviewed the facilities and equipment at PSTA-LAPAN online. This review activity is a series of activities for the 2019 Formation CPNS PSTA-LAPAN Admissions which will be held online 4-13 January 2021 with the format of the 2019 Formasi CPNS onboarding activities.

Guided by Muhtar Gunawan as PSTA's Public Relations Officer, the CPNS, totaling 18 people, were invited to tour the facilities and infrastructure to support research and development activities for science and atmospheric technology and administrative activities of PSTA. The facilities and infrastructure visited include buildings and structures. Building infrastructure includes land and buildings that include work space, laboratory space, dissemination room, sports infrastructure. Public facilities include water, electricity, telecommunications networks, internet, religious facilities, parking for vehicles, and parks. "There are 3 main buildings in this location which were built around the 80s which are connected to each other by a new building as a connecting building for each building in LAPAN Bandung" said Muhtar.

Furthermore, the CPNS onboarding participants were invited to review the laboratory facilities. The first laboratory is the Observation Laboratory. In the laboratory, PSTA-LAPAN researcher, Risyanto explained the laboratory duties and facilities to the participants. The observation laboratory has the task of managing atmospheric observation facilities in the PSTA environment, operational monitoring of the atmosphere to support research / services / DSS, and developing an automatic, real time, online, and integrated atmosphere monitoring system with Bisma, explained Risyanto. Facilities at the Observation Laboratory, continued Risyanto, include Brewer Spectrophotometer, DASIBI Ozone Monitor, Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR), Radiation Instruments, Air Quality Monitoring System (AQMS), Mobile Air Polution Monitoring System (M-AQMS), Transportable X -Band Radar, Furuno Radar, CO2 Sensor, Automatic Weather Station (AWS), HimawariCast Satellite receiver, and Radiosonde receiver, he concluded.

The next laboratory visited was the Electronics Laboratory. Asif Awaludin as the PSTA-LAPAN researcher in charge of the laboratory explained that the electronics laboratory has the task of managing electronics and mechanics laboratory facilities, supporting the development and repair of atmospheric observation sensors to support research / services / DSS, and support for patent applications. Facilities at the Electronics Laboratory, Asif explained, include Rigol's programmable power supply, cordless screwdrivers, Hand crimp tools, Temperature control Soldering Station, Infrared Thermometer, Bosch hand grinder, 1 GHz Digital Oscilloscope, 600 MHz Analog Oscilloscope, 3 GHz Digital Spectrum Analyzer. , Signal generator, Digital Multimeter, Antenna analyzer, Vector network analyzer, Variable power supply, Microcontroller simulator and others, Uangkap Asif.

PSTA-LAPAN researcher, Farid Lasmono explained the tasks and facilities at the Computing Laboratory. According to Farid, the computational laboratory has the task of managing computing facilities within the PSTA to support research / service / DSS activities, and developing infrastructure to support DSS (including observation system infrastructure, prediction systems, databases, and DSS servers).

In this laboratory review, the onboarding participants were invited to visit the Atmospheric Science and Technology Information System-Astina media center. Astina Media Center, said Farid, is an educational space for visitors where in Astina will be shown various DSS-decision support system products from PSTA-LAPAN, said Farid.

Apart from Astina, the facility introduced to the participants from the computational laboratory was the Atmospheric Science Data Center Indraprasta which stands for Information in Graha Pranata Science and Atmospheric Technology. One of the PSTA DSS, namely Satellite Disaster Early Warning System-SADEWA, said Farid, is supported by satellite-based observation systems and prediction systems based on Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) and High Performance Computing (HPC) models, in PSTA, HPC is referred to as Atmospheric Numeric Prediction Computing (KRESNA) and server storage and HPC are part of the facilities at Indraprasta, he explained.

The next laboratory visited by the onboarding participants was the Chemistry Laboratory. In this laboratory, the participants received explanations from PSTA-LAPAN researchers, Asri Indrawati and Dyah Aries Tanti, PSTA-LAPAN's Litkayasa Technicians regarding assignments from the chemical laboratory.

Chemical laboratories, said Asri, have the task of managing chemical laboratory facilities, providing chemical laboratory facilities and testing or analysis services to support research or services, and maintaining chemical laboratory accreditation, he said.

The equipment in the chemical laboratory, said Dyah, includes Ion Chromatography, Spectrophotometer, Atomic Absorption Spectrometer, Automatic Rain Sampler, Filter Pack, Passive Sampler, Rain Gauge, High Volume Sampler, Minivol for sampling PM10 and PM2.5, pH meter, Electric Conductivity. Meters, Microbalance, and Handheld Equipment (CO / CO2 Monitor, Digital Dust Indicator (DDI), Sound Meter Level, ECOM).

In the program laboratory, the participants received an explanation from the PSTA-LAPAN researcher, Trismidianto. The task of the program laboratory, said Trismidianto, is to prepare materials for the program design, activities and budget of the PSTA, monitoring, evaluating and reporting on PSTA activities as well as developing a reporting system, monitoring and online evaluation in the PSTA environment in the form of an Online-Narada Atmospheric Narrative Virtual Office.
