Air Quality Monitoring System




Air Quality Monitoring System (AQMS) is used to detect and analyze air quality in Bandung and surrounding areas. This tool is equipped with gas concentrations measuring sensors, such as CH4, SO2, and NO2. AQMS operates since 2008. Automatic Weather Station is an instrument used to measure atmospheric parameters, among others:

• global radiation

• wind speed and direction

Brewer Spectrophotometer MK-IV

Brewer Spectrophotometer MK-IV is a collaboration between the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) with the Institute of Aeronautics and Space Agency (Lapan), and began operations in Space agency since 2007. It is used to measure the total ozone, SO2, NO2, and UV radiation -B in the atmosphere.

Brewer Spectrophotometer MK-IV series determines the value of total ozone in 5 (five) wavelength UV-B, which is 306.3 nm, 310.2 nm, 313.5 nm, 316.8 nm, 320.1 nm and specific for ozone. Measurement of total ozone concentration by Brewer Spectrophotometer done with 2 methods, namely Direct Sun (ds O3) and Zenith Sky (zs O3). Measurements are carried out by expose Specthrophotometer Brewer instrument directly towards the sun, so that the UV radiation that is used does not include indirect radiation emitted in space. While the zenith sky measurements determine the total ozone values when Brewer instrument is directed at an angle of 0 degrees vertically into the sky.
